Sideboard in Walnut

Santa Barbara
October 24, 2024 by Gabriel Vicente in Streets

This sideboard in black walnut was designed and fabricated in-house to meet client’s specific taste and needs. It features sliding doors with a traditional wood-on-wood sliding mechanism milled directly into the cabinet. The door pulls are also routed into the cabinet for a completely hardware-free design. On this piece we decided on a tung oil and beeswax finish which preserves the natural look & feel of the wood while subtly accentuating the tones in the grain without the “yellowing” that typically results from polyurethane based finishes.

Built-in Bookcase

October 15, 2024 by Gabriel Vicente

This piece was a uniquely tricky request as it needed to fit within very specific constraints. Requirements were that it be floor to ceiling, however one side needed to be scribed to a flat ceiling while the other side had to accommodate the slope of this vaulted ceiling. All the while maintaining a very clean, modern look with absolutely sharp transitions, with no crown moulding to hide inaccuracies in the top scribe.

Crafted in vertical grain Douglas Fir, with a matching fireplace mantle.

File Cabinet in Walnut

October 15, 2024 by Gabriel Vicente

This unique piece was crafted for a local investment office that was looking to elevate their workplace. They had very specific dimension requirements in order to fit their file folders, but they didn’t want to use standard office furniture as that would degrade the feel of the space. We came up with this mid-century modern design, featuring simple yet elegant chrome accents in the hardware pulls and along the bottom which reflect existing chrome features in the existing architecture.

The piece is made entirely of solid black walnut, with continuous grain running vertically across the eight doors.
